Adopt An Unreached People Group is a mission strategy to reach those who have never heard the Gospel. Over two billion people on earth have never had the chance to hear about the love of Jesus Christ and His power to redeem and reconcile man to God. Historically, we have placed our focus on countries and given attention to the work of national workers and missionaries. This approach has produced great results and we should continue that work. But this new program focuses on people groups, or what the Bible refers to as nations as stated in Psalm 67.

What you can do…

One way you can get involved in fulfilling the Great Commission is to join with others in your church to adopt an unreached people group. As part of the body of Christ it is our responsibility to ensure that all of these unreached people groups are reached with the message of salvation. Learn as much as you can about the group you have chosen. Recent news and information from the country where the group is located will give you great insight as you intercede for them before the Lord. You will be connected to them through prayer, support, and committed until a church is planted in their midst.

What is Adoption?

Adoption in simple words is caring about the eternal destiny of at least one people group, and serving them until they come to know the transforming power of Jesus Christ. It means to genuinely care for their salvation until they can care for themselves.

Adopting a people means to make a commitment to an unreached people until there is a church established among them. It means maintaining that commitment until the church planted can reach the rest of the people without needing outside help. World Missions is seeking to partner with churches, groups and individuals in attaining this goal. Through this program you will have the opportunity to directly intercede, serve, give, and send workers to an unreached people group.

You can make the difference

Adopting an unreached people group will engaged you and your church in the most important task in which you would ever be involved. Reaching the entire world with the message of salvation is in the center of God’s heart. Adopting an unreached people group will place you in the center of God’s will for the world. You can make a difference for the eternal destiny of thousands of men and women that otherwise would have never had the opportunity to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
