We praise God for the incredible advancement of this ministry; the seed of the Gospel has been planted in cities, towns, villages and remote places. Church planting movements begin to take place even in the midst of danger, hostility, and persecution. Estimates indicate that through the work among the first ten groups, we are now ministering to over 14,000 (once unreached) people in more than 210 churches. This can only be attributed to the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit directing our partnership with churches and individuals, giving us wisdom for the use of resources, and walking with faithful servants as they labor in the field. - A church planting movement is taking place among the Selale Oromo in Ethiopia as twenty-two churches have emerged with hundreds attending services. A large piece of land was granted by authorities to build a school, worship place, and community center facilities.
- The first Bible school for the Bengali is in operation in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Training workers is essential as over ten thousand Muslim and Hindus have received Christ through local congregations united with the Church of God. In addition, they operate four elementary schools, sponsor education for 300 children and provide water wells for less fortunate families.
- We are now ministering to over 1,200 Hausas in 30 villages of Northern Ghana. Various acres of land have been donated by local chiefs to build churches, clinics, schools and factories.
- In addition to the growing work among the Gheg in Albania, new strategies are in place to reach more than three million Albanians in Bosnia, Serbia, Kosovo, Macedonia and Greece.
- The Kawate village in northern India now has a community center for Marathi women. In addition to receiving training, education, and health care, the community has a meeting place for worship. New believers are excited about the prospect of a future Bible school program.
- Regardless of danger and persecution, the Gospel is reaching many homes in Turkey. New believers are praying to obtain permission for the use of an abandoned (legal) church building as homes have become too small for the growing number of new converts in Istanbul.
- We now minister to over130 Zaramos in four different locations in Tanzania.
- Several missionaries work among the Rifi Berber in various cities in Northern Africa.
- Bai believers in southern China will be pastored by a young worker from Hong Kong.
- We expect good results from the program established in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. At least 20 students from several Asian countries will be trained to reach the unreached.
Local outreaches In many countries, our church had planted a solid work among unreached peoples even before we began this ministry. In recent years, the emphasis placed upon the unreached have caused churches to concentrate efforts in reaching those who have never heard the Gospel. New groups are being targeted by local churches around the world such as…the Kutia, Maithili, Kol, and Kawar in India, and the Cherkess, Ossetians, Karachai, Khakass, and Turkic tribes in Russia. Targeting new groups We are researching a number of groups in order to determine our focus for the following years. The strategy is to target the least reached groups with greater possibilities of success due to their location and/or efforts already taking place to reach them. We are in the preliminary steps for various groups such as:
The Uighur in China The Ila in Zambia The Fulani in Burkina Faso The Burmese in Myanmar The Guragy Oromo in Ethiopia The Gheg and Turks in the Balkans The Tharu in Nepal The Thai Central in Thailand The Mongolians living in China The Loboro in Sudan Finishing the Task Click here to view an important and timely video message by Roland Vaughan, taped at a chapel service in the COG International Offices. | The videos on this page require Windows Media Player 9, available free of charge here . | (Los videos en esta página requieren Windows Media Player 9, disponible libre de cargo aquí .)
